Is tretford resistant to Castor Chairs?
Yes, tretford is resistant to castor chairs. In the vast majority of installations, end-users choose not to use castor chair protectors and they experience no problems with this.
By offering specific recommendations regarding castor chair protectors, which are related to the tretford carpet colour chosen (see the reverse of the tretford folder), we have tried to go one step further than our competitors. Our recommendations are not based on a one-dimensional assessment of wear. We have also taken appearance retention and maintenance into account.
tretford is manufactured from goat hair which has excellent, natural soil-hiding and appearance retention qualities. This, combined with the unique surface texture of tretford, allows us to produce carpet colours that other manufacturers would not venture to produce.
Regardless of how or from what a carpet is made, light and bright-coloured carpets will not retain their appearance as well as ones made in darker, more subdued colours. Anyone who makes claims that their carpet will maintain its appearance and resist soiling without reference to colour is making incomplete claims. Anyone who does so is failing to alert specifiers and end-users to the limitations inherent in recommendations regarding castor chair protectors.
