Is tretford Anti-Allergenic?
It is now understood that natural fibre products such as wool or goat hair are too long and too coarse to be inhaled and therefore do not affect asthma sufferers.
Furthermore, and unlike smooth finishes such as wood or vinyl, it is acknowledged that carpet holds dust in its structure until it is removed by vacuum or specialist cleaning, reducing the level of atmospheric dust. This means a healthier and more comfortable in-door environment for asthmatics and those allergic to dust, the by-products of the house dust mite and other air-borne pollutants.
Furthermore, natural fibres help to reduce the levels of atmospheric pollutant gases by absorbing these into the fibre structure.
tretford has been extensively used and recommended for use by Departments of Education world-wide, where healthcare and hygiene are of paramount concern.
